Throughout the day, 19 artisan projects will open their doors in the ground floors of the town's houses to display their crafts, creations, and material transformation processes. The fair offers an immersive experience inviting visitors to discover trades through materials, tools, and the artisans' hands.
This year's edition, themed 'Matèria Viva' (Living Matter), focuses on the relationship between materials such as wood, wicker, leather, clay, glass, wool, and silk, and the specific knowledge of each craft. Artisans' spaces will feature raw materials, tools, work-in-progress samples, and demonstrations to reveal the techniques and gestures involved in artisanal processes.
The program includes activities such as the collective construction of a wicker hut with basket maker Aleix Grifoll, a glassblowing demonstration by the Associació Vidre Bufat de Mataró, and workshops on raku pottery, leather crafting with the Museu de la Pell d’Igualada, wet felting with Ripollesa sheep wool, and the turner's craft.
The 'Converses Matèria Viva' (Living Matter Conversations) will delve into materials like metal, wool, glass, leather, clay, plant matter, silk, and wicker. The day also features a creative walk with artist Lourdes Doñate, a guided tour with Anoia Patrimoni, the exhibition 'Matèria Viva', and the audiovisual showcase 'On the Road'.
The closing event will be the concert 'Fang i Fusta' (Clay and Wood) by Pepe Martínez (percussion and amphorae) and Emiliano Roca (double bass and effects), linking music with the sounds of artisan workshops and the fair's featured materials.
