Crime rates in Igualada drop by 3.6% over the last year

The city of Igualada saw a 3.6% decrease in criminal offenses during 2025, according to the latest report released by the Ministry of Interior.

The capital of the Anoia region recorded 1,801 crimes compared to 1,869 in the previous year. This downward trend mirrors the situation in Barcelona province and Catalonia as a whole, where crime fell by 2.9%.
Key improvements include a 41% drop in home burglaries and a 35.3% reduction in drug trafficking. However, authorities expressed concern over a 60% increase in crimes against sexual freedom and a 44% rise in vehicle thefts.
