The victim's relatives have filed a complaint, alleging that the death was caused by the second and third-degree burns inflicted by excessively hot bath water. Following the incident, the center's nurses identified the lesions on her face and torso and transferred the patient to Hospital Vall d'Hebron.
According to the Amavir residence version, a disciplinary file was opened for the responsible employee, as his explanation did not match the facts. Ultimately, the employee requested voluntary resignation from the company.
The relatives claim the death was a direct result of the burns, while the residence points to a respiratory infection subsequent to the initial hospital admission.
After receiving initial medical discharge, the 85-year-old woman returned to the center, where the burn care was progressing favorably. However, she later suffered a respiratory infection that required a second hospital admission, where she eventually died. The residence has regretted the events and guaranteed its full cooperation with the police investigation.
