The la Llacuna Town Council and the Generalitat de Catalunya have launched an urgent preservation plan for the Ancosa Oak, one of Catalonia's most significant monumental trees.

The tree's health has declined significantly due to prolonged drought and an infestation of wood-boring insects. To prevent its collapse, experts have installed structural supports on the main branches and performed sanitary pruning.
Additional measures include restricting vehicle access to the area and adding biomass to the soil to prevent compaction. Regular monitoring will continue to track the pest's impact and the tree's overall recovery.
