The Igualada City Council and the TIC Anoia association unveiled an Artificial Intelligence strategic plan this Wednesday, aiming to position the city as a technological hub within the Anoia region.

The strategy focuses on two main pillars: improving citizen well-being through smart mobility and healthcare projects, and boosting the local economy by providing businesses with advanced digital tools. The local government is now seeking external funding to implement these initiatives.

"We want to prioritize projects that provide more agile responses to our citizens."

Current examples of this tech shift include AI-powered cameras at the Les Comes sports complex. Innovation councilor Patrícia Illa also highlighted ongoing collaborations with Mobile World Capital Barcelona and efforts to promote STEAM careers among local youth.
