The Neighborhood Festival in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia begins tomorrow, coinciding with Corpus Christi, and will run until June 11 with a program of traditional events.

The town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia is launching its traditional Neighborhood Festival, a celebration with deep roots in the Corpus Christi festivities and one of the municipality's oldest traditions. This year, the events will run from tomorrow, Corpus Christi Thursday, until next Wednesday, June 11.
The festival calendar includes seven main neighborhoods: Ajuntament (Thursday), Sant Antoni (Friday), Montserrat (Saturday), Església (Sunday), Diputació (Monday, coinciding with the eve of Sant Joan), Cavallers (Tuesday), and Raval (Wednesday). Additionally, the Coral neighborhood joins the celebration on June 3 with a performance by the Coral Sant Sadurní.
Traditional firecrackers will mark the start of the festival in each neighborhood. Main events will include fireworks, parades ('rengles') accompanied by the Banda dels Barris (Neighborhood Band), mantillas, sticks, and carnations – distinctive elements of some neighborhoods – as well as flower carpets in the Església neighborhood. Each neighborhood will also offer various activities such as hot chocolate, ice cream, family-friendly events, and music.
Possible changes are anticipated in the organization of the Rengle dels Confits (confectionery parade), scheduled for Friday, due to a potential education sector strike. The aim is to protect the rights of teaching staff. If the strike is confirmed, children up to sixth grade will be invited to participate in the parade, collect confections and cake, accompanied by a family member. A queue will be organized on a first-come, first-served basis from Doctor Escayola street onto Ajuntament square, leaving space for the passage of giants and the parade retinue. A quiet space will also be set up at the intersection of Montserrat and Sant Pere streets.
