Igualada Hoquei Club celebrated a historic achievement this weekend. Their reserve team, Simar Igualada, lifted the Copa de la Princesa for the first time after beating Martinelia Manlleu 2-1. The team, coached by Raúl Castillo, showcased the strength of the club's youth academy in the top tournament for OK Lliga Plata teams.
The final, held at the Pavelló Municipal de Vilanova i la Geltrú, was highly competitive. Despite an early blue card for Pau Berent, the team from Igualada remained resilient. Àlex Cardil scored the opening goal, but Manlleu equalized before halftime. The match remained tied until the final minutes of play.
