The Àuria Foundation has confirmed the start date for the works to transform the building in Igualada's Plaça del Rei into its new residence. This project, set to begin on February 15, has an estimated duration of 15 months. The goal is for the facility to be fully operational by May 2027, offering 21 places for adults with intellectual disabilities who are currently on waiting lists.
“"we want to have a point of attention in the city center to be more accessible to the population."
The new residence will consist of a three-story building with a terrace. On the ground floor, the entity will locate a citizen attention space, which will include the Labor Insertion Service. This decision is part of the foundation's strategy to centralize services and improve accessibility, as previously explained by the manager, Albert Piñol, and the deputy manager, Alícia Marina Guerrero.
This information was made public during the extraordinary assembly convened by the Àuria Governing Council on January 22. The meeting gathered around 350 voting members at the Centre d'Innovació Anoia facilities in Vilanova del Camí. During the session, progress on the Parc Central Greenhouse project was also detailed; works for this are expected to start in March, aiming for the facility to be functional before the end of 2026.
The assembly also served to ratify the approval of the 2024 annual accounts. Furthermore, the manager, Albert Piñol, presented an analysis of the provisional economic closing for 2025, detailing the financial evolution and budget deviations. Finally, forecasts for 2026 were presented, including growth hypotheses and priority lines of activity to strengthen Àuria as a transformative actor in the territory.
