This recognition highlights the center's results in care quality, appropriateness, and efficiency in the care of mothers and children. The awards, organized by the consultancy Higia Benchmarking, compare the results of participating hospitals by grouping them according to their service portfolio and structure.
The evaluation in the maternal-child area includes births, processes related to pregnancy and postpartum, neonatal care, and pediatric processes in patients aged 2 to 14 years. Quality and safety indicators are analyzed, such as complications during admission and urgent readmissions, as well as the appropriateness of care and management of hospital stays, adjusting results to patient risk for homogeneous comparison.
The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 7, in Madrid. Gynecologists Alba López and Ana Perestelo, along with the head of Management Control at CSA, Àlex Aragón, collected the award on behalf of the maternal-child area professional team.
“"This award is a reflection of the team's commitment to the continuous improvement of healthcare and the daily dedication of our professional team that makes these good results possible."
This award adds to other distinctions received by the hospital in previous editions of the BSH, such as the second prize in the Maternal-Child Area in 2024 and being a finalist in Surgical Processes in 2022. In the first edition in 2019, the center won first prize in the Respiratory System category and was a finalist in four other categories.
The Best Spanish Hospitals Awards aim to promote continuous improvement in public and private hospitals through the analysis of efficiency, appropriateness, and quality of care indicators. This year, hospitals from 14 autonomous communities participated, providing comparative information to identify areas for improvement.
