The Igualada City Council has introduced a new subsidy program offering up to 300 euros to encourage Christmas decorations in local shops and restaurants, centered around the theme of the Magic Forest.

The initiative aims to enhance the town's appeal during the festive season, improve the visual appearance of the streets, and involve the commercial sector in the campaign's visual identity.
The Councillor for Commerce, Jordi Marcè, emphasized the importance of this collaboration: "We want commerce not to be a spectator of this campaign, but its protagonist. When a city is illuminated and decorated with a single idea, the streets become more welcoming, people stroll more, and businesses benefit".
The grant is available to retail shops, hospitality and catering establishments, and similar services with street-level activity and a visible storefront in Igualada. Excluded are wholesale businesses, financial institutions, and premises over 400 square meters.
The council will cover up to 75% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of 300 euros per establishment. The total budget for this program is 21,000 euros. Funds can be used for decorative elements, lighting, support structures, and professional decoration services, provided they are new items or substantially modified.
