The city of Igualada celebrates the 131st edition of its Three Kings Festival, the oldest in Catalonia, with the La Crida event on December 19, announcing the arrival of Their Majesties.

The La Crida (The Call) event will take place on Friday, December 19 at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Session Room. This event, recovered last year after nearly sixty years, restores the figures of the Nuncio and the Heralds, documented since 1899.
Mayor Marc Castells will present the parchment to the Nuncio (represented by Xavier Dàvila i Solé) and entrust him with the task of announcing the arrival of the Three Kings. The Heralds (Queralt Ferrer Bros and Alba Ferrer Sagarra) will debut new maces designed by Santi Valor of MetalArt, inspired by Neoclassical and Modernist styles.
The royal trilogy officially begins on December 28 with the arrival of Page Faruk at the Les Comes Pavilion, a tradition maintained continuously since 1943. Tickets for the show can be purchased via www.tiquetsigualada.cat.
The culmination will be the Cavalcade (parade) on January 5, 2026. Furthermore, the reception of letters will take place on January 1, 2026 at the Ateneu Municipal Theater, including a “quiet hour” (10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) designed for people with sensory hypersensitivity or functional diversity.
This year's poster, created by designer Carolina Veciana, highlights local heritage, placing the scene on the Rambla, in front of the Modernist building of the Agència Igualadina (1905), connecting the festival with its origins in 1895. Package reception for the Kings will be from January 2 to 4, 2026 on Mestre Muntaner Avenue.
