The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested two men, aged 22 and 31, on January 28 in La Torre de Claramunt (Anoia) as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health and electricity fraud.

Following several weeks of investigation initiated in mid-December, agents from the Investigation Unit of the Igualada police station carried out a judicial search of the house. Inside, they located three rooms dedicated to intensive cultivation, with a total of 1,342 marijuana plants and 50 grams of buds.
The dismantled installation was complex, equipped with light screens, fans, odor filters, and air conditioning. The electrical supply was manipulated, with consumption equivalent to that of an entire apartment block, which, according to the agents, posed a serious fire risk to the neighbors of La Torre de Claramunt.

Criminal organizations habitually use isolated houses or industrial warehouses for this type of criminal activity, offering very competitive prices to the owners.

It should be noted that this same house had previously been the subject of two similar operations, with plantations dismantled in 2025 and 2020. The two detainees were brought before the duty investigating court in Igualada.
