The Prosecutor's Office seeks 14 years in prison for an Igualada resident accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old trans minor in an abandoned building in April 2021.

The accused, who was 39 years old at the time of the incident, arranged to meet the victim, whom he already knew, “to talk” in the capital of Anoia. According to the indictment, the assault occurred despite the boy's refusal.

The aggression reached such a point that, due to the high level of anxiety, the victim ended up losing consciousness.

When the minor regained consciousness, the man continued to abuse him. Finally, the victim managed to run away from the abandoned building to seek help. The defendant has no prior criminal record.
In addition to the 14-year prison sentence for a sexual assault crime, the Public Prosecutor's Office proposes a ban on communicating with or approaching the victim within 1,000 meters for the next 24 years.
The case, initially investigated by the Igualada Court of Instruction number 1, also includes civil liability of 11,000 euros for moral damages to the victim. The trial is scheduled for next Tuesday, January 13, at the Provincial Court of Barcelona.
