Co-driver Àlex Haro, from Òdena, along with pilot Nani Roma, achieved second place in the car category of the Dakar Rally 2026, standing out as the top duo for the Ford Racing team.

The team consisting of Àlex Haro, originally from Òdena, and veteran driver Nani Roma finished the prestigious Dakar 2026 just nine minutes and forty-two seconds behind the winner, the Qatari Nasser Al-Attiyah. This achievement allowed them to climb to the second step of the podium, establishing themselves as the best-classified entry for the Ford Racing team, ahead of renowned drivers like the Swede Mattias Ekström and the Spaniard Carlos Sainz.

The participation from Anoia was notable, with three key figures achieving outstanding results in both the car and motorcycle categories.

In addition to the success of Haro and Roma, the Anoia region had a significant presence in the Dakar 2026 edition. The co-driver from Igualada, Armand Monleón, who debuted with the Australian Toby Price, finished the competition in a commendable eighth position, being the first Toyota vehicle in the general classification.
Following the trend of local successes, it should be noted that the winner of the motorcycle category, Luciano Benavides, belongs to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, which is managed by Jordi Viladoms, also from Igualada. Furthermore, the overall car winner, Nasser Al-Attiyah, was assisted by Jordi Vidal, who is also from Igualada.
