Raquel Grados will compete in tennis, while Imanol Pérez will compete in handball. Both previously participated in the Special Olympics torch relay in Igualada, in an event that brought together numerous athletes from the region.
The torch's route through the streets of Igualada began at the Central Library and concluded at the Town Hall Square, in a symbolic day that highlighted the values of inclusive sport.
This edition of the Special Olympics includes 15 adapted sports modalities, such as athletics, swimming, basketball, football, tennis, paddle tennis, sailing, handball, gymnastics, badminton, cycling, table tennis, bocce, and the Young Athletes program.
The Special Olympics serve as a meeting point through sport, promoting participation, equal opportunities, and the values of camaraderie and perseverance.
