Citizens of Vilanova del Camí can now express their opinion on the municipal ordinance that will regulate the collection of bulky waste, a measure promoted by the City Council to improve street cleaning and urban management.
This initiative follows an intense political debate held during the ordinary plenary session on January 19, where both the government and the opposition expressed concern about waste management. Groups such as Fem Vilanova and V365 warned about uncivil behavior and the constant presence of bulky waste outside containers.
The local government acknowledged the problem, which also affects safety and mobility, and defended the need to act firmly through a new civility ordinance, given the overflow of the municipal collection service.
The main goal of the new ordinance is to establish a clear framework regulating both citizen obligations and service operation, aiming to prevent uncontrolled waste dumping and protect the environment.
To participate, individuals and entities must submit their opinions through the questionnaire available on the municipal website. The deadline for contributions is next Wednesday, February 11.
