Around thirty representatives from political, technical, and social spheres participated in the General Assembly of the Housing Table of Alt Pirineu i Aran (THAPiA), held in Sort. This public-private body is working to incorporate the perspective of high mountain areas into the future Specific Housing Plan for Rural Areas.
The annual meeting, promoted by the Institute for the Development and Promotion of Alt Pirineu i Aran (IDAPA) and the Cooperative Ateneu of Alt Pirineu i Aran (ACAPA), served to share initiatives and define the Table's priorities for the coming months. THAPiA has already supported municipalities in regulating tourist use housing and in urban sharecropping initiatives.
The Assembly dedicated a participatory session to developing proposals with a high mountain perspective for the future Specific Housing Plan for Rural Areas (PEHAR). The Department of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition is working to incorporate a specific focus on the realities of high mountain areas into this future instrument.
Finally, the work lines of THAPiA were validated, and new proposals were collected from its members, aiming to continue consolidating a space for cooperation between administrations and territorial agents to jointly address the challenges of housing access and availability in the Pyrenees.
