The 'El català et serveix' campaign has been launched in Vallès Occidental Sud, including municipalities such as Cerdanyola, Ripollet, Montcada, and Sant Cugat, with the aim of boosting the use of Catalan in the restaurant sector.

The initiative, which has the collaboration of the Hospitality Guild of Vallès Occidental and Barcelonès, aims to inform member bars and restaurants about the benefits of incorporating Catalan into their daily operations and encourage them to respect customers' linguistic rights.
Monthly, restaurateurs receive recommendations for integrating Catalan into customer service, price lists, menus, and information about the services offered by the Consorci per a la Normalització Lingüística (CPNL).
Among the CPNL's services are the Linguistic Advisory Service (SAL), for reviewing and translating menus, and the Comerços aprenents program, aimed at restaurateurs with limited knowledge of Catalan.
In parallel, restaurant vocabulary will be shared monthly via Instagram on the accounts of the CNL Vallès Occidental Sud, the Guild, and its local branches in Cerdanyola, Ripollet, and Sant Cugat.
The campaign, inspired by a similar initiative from the CNL of Girona, is part of the Ofercat studies in Cerdanyola and Sant Cugat, which indicate a low use of Catalan in the restaurant sector of these towns.
The campaign's website will also serve as an informational tool for restaurateurs in other CPNL towns, such as Barberà and Badia, who are not part of the Hospitality Guild.
Soon, the Hospitality Guild of Vallès Occidental and Barcelonès will also join the Voluntariat per la llengua program.
