Agricultural election campaign begins in Catalonia with 21,000 voters

Four unions compete for representation in the primary sector elections scheduled for February 27th.

A total of 21,373 farmers and ranchers are eligible to vote on February 27th to elect their representatives for the Catalan Agricultural Board.

The electoral campaign officially started this February 12th. These elections, held since 1994, determine the influence of unions in negotiations with the Generalitat. In the Lleida and Pyrenees regions, the census includes 9,552 voters.
Four main organizations are running: UP, JARC, Asaja, and UPA. In the previous 2021 elections, Unió de Pagesos secured a majority with 55.04% of the votes. Voting will take place from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
