The Conselh Generau d'Aran has announced a series of events to celebrate International Women's Day, taking place in Vielha from March 5th to 8th.

The program kicks off on March 5th at the Vielha General Library with the Sabers Collectius exhibition. This project showcases creative works in wood, ceramics, and textiles, highlighting the importance of community-based care.
On March 6th, the focus shifts to sports and health. Author Paula Fernández-Ochoa will present her book Vivir corriendo at the Conselh Generau, discussing the balance between physical performance and gender perspectives.

"This year the events revolve around care, a space where we still have to work hard to consolidate equality."

Maria Menis · Councilor for Youth, Equality and Social Inclusion
The main event will be the 12th Val d'Aran Women's Race on March 8th. Starting at 11:00 AM from Plaça d'Aran, the race aims to raise awareness about gender inequality and collective support.
