A worker at the Baqueira Beret ski resort filmed two brown bear specimens at night while grooming the slopes in the Bonaigua sector of the Val d'Aran.

The video, circulated yesterday among residents of the Val d'Aran, shows the sighting that took place on the slopes of the Baqueira Beret ski resort. The snow groomer driver recorded the animals while performing nighttime maintenance tasks.
Although the driver claims to have seen two specimens in the darkness, only one is clearly visible in the images, partially illuminated by the vehicle's headlights. The animal quickly fled, leaving a trail of footprints on the packed snow.

"They are the last to hibernate and the first to leave their dens."

Marc Alonso · Fauna Expert at the Brown Bear Foundation
Marc Alonso, from the Brown Bear Foundation (FOP), confirmed that the animals could be young males. The expert added that the concentration of snow only at high altitudes at this time of year, while the bears can still find food at lower altitudes, contributes to delaying the hibernation process.
