The Baqueira Beret ski resort implemented 917 smart lockers provided by the company Vacway this season to streamline services and improve the flow of thousands of skiers daily.
The cooperation between Baqueira Beret and Vacway has been established as a successful model for digitalization in the snow sector. The resort currently operates 917 smart lockers, distributed between 773 at the station (up from 697 previously) and 144 at the Hotel Montarto. This expansion allows for more effective management of peak attendance moments.

"Working with resorts the size of Baqueira allows us to demonstrate that innovation works best when it generates real value: fewer queues, more autonomy, and a smoother experience for thousands of skiers daily."
The Vacway system transforms traditional baggage storage into an agile and autonomous process. Users can reserve and pay for lockers from home, accessing them directly with a personal PIN, thus avoiding congestion at the beginning and end of the day. During the last season, the smart lockers recorded an occupancy rate exceeding 90%.

"For Vacway, digitalization is not just about automating processes; it is about helping complex infrastructures work better, with more control, greater efficiency, and a more satisfactory experience for everyone."
The automation of these services plays a key role in the station's fluidity, helping to better manage user flows and freeing up staff for higher value-added tasks. Vacway, with over 25,000 smart lockers deployed across Europe, is established as a key technology partner in the digitalization of active tourism.
