The Catalan Government and the Comuns party have secured a budget deal for 2026 that prioritizes infrastructure safety and mobility in the Alt Pirineu i Aran region.

The agreement establishes a shock plan to improve mountain roads, aiming to prevent landslides and road collapses. This measure is vital for maintaining connectivity in areas like Vall de Cardós and Rialp, which faced isolation during recent winter storms.

"We must end the neglect of Pyrenean roads and invest in improvements and maintenance."

A 21 million euro investment will also upgrade the regional bus network to address service gaps in Cerdanya and Alt Urgell. The plan also includes broader social measures, such as 1.25 billion euros for public housing policies across Catalonia.
