Civil Protection activated the Allaucat emergency pre-alert this Friday, February 13, 2026, due to an increased risk of avalanches in Aran and northern Pallars Sobirà.

According to the Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia (ICGC), the current risk is marked (level 3) but is expected to rise to strong (level 4) on Saturday. This is caused by heavy snowfall and strong winds at high altitudes.
Experts warn that avalanches could be triggered naturally or by skiers, particularly above the tree line. Snow depths currently range between 110 and 190 centimeters in parts of Aran and Pallars Sobirà.
In addition to the avalanche risk, blizzard conditions are expected to reduce visibility. Authorities recommend extreme caution and advise against mountain activities in exposed areas until conditions improve.
