The presidents of the COE and RFEDI, Alejandro Blanco and May Peus España, visited Val d'Aran to back the establishment of a future high-performance snow and mountain sports center.

The institutional visit took place yesterday morning at the Baqueira Beret ski resort and the Val d'Aran Winter Sports Technical Center (CETEI). The meeting, which included the Sindica of Aran, Maria Vergés, and other authorities, highlighted the strong alignment between territorial, regional, and state institutions to boost grassroots sports.

"I believe a world-reference center can be created."

Alejandro Blanco, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, emphasized the crucial work being done to promote young talent through clubs and federations, coordinated by the RFEDI, as the final step before reaching the elite level.

"There is a great history in all this territory and I am sure the best is yet to come. For me, it is a perfect day because we have seen the young people from the technical group who will represent Spain tomorrow, and that is sport in its purest state, it is a real pleasure."

This visit occurs at a critical time for winter sports, just days before the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in Italy. Furthermore, this weekend Boí Taüll will host the World Cup, and Val d'Aran will be the venue for the Marxa Beret and the Alpine European Cup.
