Aranés/Occitan Certification Exams for 2025-2026 Course Begin

The Conselh Generau d’Aran has launched official examinations for Aranés/Occitan language certificates in Vielha and Barcelona.

The Conselh Generau d’Aran began today the official examinations for obtaining Aranés/Occitan language certificates, corresponding to the 2025-2026 academic year, with sessions held in Vielha and Barcelona.

The tests, covering levels A1 through C1, commenced with oral exams for level A2 at the Government of Aran's headquarters in Vielha, while written tests took place at the Escola Garona in the same town.
This first call, running from May 25th to June 4th, 2026, includes in-person written exams and online oral tests, conducted individually or in pairs with assigned schedules.
The detailed schedule includes A2 written tests on May 26th; A1 oral and B1 written tests on May 27th and 28th; B2 level exams on June 1st and 2nd; and C1 tests on June 3rd and 4th. A second session is scheduled from September 1st to 4th, 2026.
The Conselh Generau d’Aran highlighted "the increase in interest for training and certifications in Aranés, as well as the participation of students, teachers, and public administration professionals".
