The Conselh Generau d’Aran has allocated an investment to improve the doors of the Colomèrs refuge, in the Val d’Aran, to increase the security, insulation, and energy efficiency of the high mountain facility.

This action is part of the Aran Government's commitment to preserve and enhance the natural heritage and key infrastructures such as the Pyrenean refuges, which are essential for safe access to the mountains and the promotion of responsible tourism.
The door renovation aims to adapt the facilities to the harsh climatic conditions of the territory, making the Colomèrs refuge a more sustainable and comfortable space for both users and workers.
Part of this investment is made possible by the DESIR-POCTEFA project, a cross-border initiative aimed at improving the connection, management, and sustainability of the Pyrenees refuges. Official project information can be consulted at www.poctefa-desir.com.
The Conselh Generau d’Aran has reiterated its commitment to continue modernizing the refuges in the Val d’Aran, ensuring that these strategic facilities remain part of the collective natural and cultural heritage.
