Catalonia stands out for its diverse landscapes and heritage, from the Pyrenees to the coast. Hiking has become a highly popular activity, with over 11,000 km of marked trails according to the Federació d’Entitats Excursionistes de Catalunya (FEEC).
One of the most attractive proposals is the Camin Reiau, which winds through the Vall d'Aran. This route allows for the discovery of 12th-century Romanesque art, local gastronomy, and nature, with a customizable duration from a weekend to ten days.
Divided into three main stages, the route is family-friendly, featuring daily segments of 15 km and 4 hours of walking. It begins in Vielha, the capital, and ascends to Naut Aran (stages 1-5), passing through villages like Bagergue and Tredòs, reaching Plan de Beret (1,800 m). It includes an overnight stay in Montgarri, an abandoned village with a sanctuary.
The second phase, Mijaran (stages 4-6), includes villages such as Vilac and Aubèrt, representing the most populated area. The third stage, Baish Aran, covers less-visited locations like Bossòst and Les, with longer treks.
The price for the complete route (9 nights) is 850 euros. Stage-specific stays vary: Naut Aran costs 595 euros (5 days/6 nights), Mijaran is 240 euros (weekend), and Baish Aran is 465 euros (5 nights).
