The Catalan Meteorological Service has issued a severe weather warning for Sunday, forecasting wind gusts exceeding 140 km/h across the northern regions of the country.

The highest risk levels are set for Alt Empordà, Berguedà, and Ripollès. Civil Protection will deploy the ES-Alert system, sending direct messages to mobile phones to advise citizens against unnecessary travel and outdoor activities during the peak of the storm.

"The episode will start at 7 AM on Sunday. We urge the population to avoid all unnecessary movements."

In the Aran Valley and Pallars Sobirà, heavy snowfall of up to 20 cm is expected. The combination of snow and high winds will create dangerous blizzard conditions, making mountain activities extremely hazardous until Sunday afternoon.
