The Department of Territory has guaranteed that the Bonaigua pass will remain open during the upcoming repair works on the section of the C-28 affected by landslides.

The intervention on this section of the road, which has suffered a partial collapse of a breakwater, is still under study to determine the most appropriate technical solution. At the same time, it has been confirmed that the preliminary study for the construction of the Bonaigua tunnel, a long-standing demand from the municipalities of Pallars Sobirà, will be put out to tender in 2026.
These actions are part of an investment plan for the Alt Pirineu and Aran regions, endowed with 35 million euros. More than half of this budget, 18 million, will be allocated to the road network, including improvements to the Comiols axis and maintenance tasks to reverse the accumulated deterioration of infrastructure.
The budget also includes projects for the improvement of natural environments, the deseasonalization of the tourism offer, and support for the Lleida-la Pobla railway line. Furthermore, the creation of a new legal framework for mountain paths, often under municipal ownership and facing maintenance difficulties due to geological phenomena, has been announced.
