The Government of Catalonia has unveiled its 2026 budget proposal, allocating 63.1 million euros to the Alt Pirineu and Aran region, marking a 49% increase from previous accounts.

The investment plan, currently awaiting Parliamentary approval, prioritizes Alt Urgell and Cerdanya with 16.8 million euros each. Pallars Jussà follows with an allocation of 13.8 million euros.
In Aran, while direct regional investment is set at 1.9 million euros for road maintenance, a separate funding agreement will boost the valley's total resources to nearly 43 million euros.

"The agreement will allow an increase of almost 4 million euros in current funding, essential for securing Aran's autonomy and self-government."

Road improvements account for 26% of the total budget. Other key areas include waste treatment facilities and upgrades to major ski resorts such as Espot and Port Ainé to bolster local tourism.
