The Institute for the Development and Promotion of the Alt Pirineu and Aran (IDAPA) has launched a 125,000 euro fund to finance the creation of municipal path inventories in the Pyrenees region.

This initiative, linked to the Department of Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, has already published its regulations in the DOGC. The goal is for local authorities in Alta Ribagorça, Alt Urgell, Cerdanya, Pallars Jussà, Pallars Sobirà, and Aran to catalog their public roads on non-urban land.
Current legislation requires town councils to keep these records updated. However, technical drafting can cost thousands of euros, a figure difficult for smaller administrations to afford, often requiring specialized external consultancy.
The call for applications is expected to open before summer 2026. Eligible projects must include a georeferenced digital database, detailed files for each path, and a general map to facilitate future management and maintenance.
