A man between 45 and 55 years old died this Monday morning in a fire that broke out in a residential building on Anglada street in Vielha, in the Val d'Aran.

A second person suffered minor injuries from smoke inhalation and was taken to the Hospital d'Aran, where they were discharged on Monday afternoon.
The fire started around 6 AM and completely destroyed six of the building's nine floors. Three more floors were affected by water, and the adjacent building also suffered consequences.
Around twenty units from the Bombers d'Aran and five units from the Bombers de la Generalitat, arriving from El Pont de Suert, participated in the firefighting efforts.
Firefighters believe the fire originated in the upper part of the building, and the Mossos d'Esquadra have launched an investigation to determine the causes.
A dozen people lived in the building and have been rehoused in hotels in the Aranese capital. The Ajuntament has declared a day of official mourning and called for a minute of silence in condolence.
