The exhibition, originally created by the Ethnological Museum Foundation of the Val d'Aran in 2013, now finds a new exhibition space in the bell tower of Sant Fèlix de Bagergue. The EMD of Bagergue has driven its installation in this emblematic building, giving new prominence to this traveling exhibition, which can be visited during August and September.
The exhibition brings together nearly a hundred chapels, sanctuaries, small shrines, pillars, and crosses distributed throughout the villages, paths, and mountains of the Val d'Aran. This popular religious heritage constitutes a precious testimony of the beliefs, devotions, and history of the Aranese community over the centuries.
With this initiative, the bell tower of Sant Fèlix de Bagergue becomes a new space for exhibitions and cultural activities, expanding the uses of one of the village's most unique heritage buildings and reinforcing the EMD's commitment to the preservation, dissemination, and revitalization of local heritage.
The placement of the exhibition has been made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Bishopric of Urgell and the Parish of Sant Fèlix de Bagergue, who have lent this space for the exhibition to be presented in an environment of great historical and architectural value.
