The regions of Ponent and Alt Pirineu i Aran registered an unemployment rate of 5.73% at the close of the fourth quarter of 2025, according to data published today by the INE.

The National Statistics Institute (INE) published this Tuesday the data from the Active Population Survey (EPA) corresponding to the fourth quarter of 2025. The unemployment indicator in Ponent and Alt Pirineu i Aran stood at 5.73%, with a total of 227,000 people employed.
This figure represents a significant reduction of 0.56% compared to the data from the third quarter of last year. Furthermore, compared to the close of the 2024 fiscal year, the region managed to create 13,200 new jobs, consolidating the economic recovery.
All productive sectors in the area experienced growth. Agriculture registered 17,800 workers, industry reached 38,000, construction added 25,200 employed, and the services sector remained the main engine with 146,800 workers.
In the context of Catalonia, the overall unemployment rate was higher, standing at 8.24% at the end of last year. However, Catalonia as a whole also reached a historic employment record, with 3.91 million workers.
