The fifth edition of the Aranese Research Paper Awards, promoted by the Conselh Generau d’Aran, will recognize eight papers submitted by 2nd-year high school students from the Institut d’Aran.

The awards, established in 2021, aim to encourage the use of the native language in academic and scientific contexts. To be eligible for the prize, students must have achieved a grade of 8 or higher in their research papers.
A jury composed of technicians from the Department of Culture and Language of the Conselh Generau evaluates the papers from a linguistic perspective, considering grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and syntax, as well as each participant's oral presentation.
The winning papers will receive cash prizes of €300 for the first place and €200 for the second. This year's research paper titles include studies on strokes, polarization in Spain, smart home design, and popular culture.
The Conselh Generau d’Aran emphasizes the importance of promoting the use of Aranese among young people and consolidating its presence in academic and research settings, thereby contributing to the prestige and normalization of the Val d’Aran's native language.
