The initiative aims to consolidate the Justice Offices of Naut Aran, Bossòst, Les, Es Bòrdes, Vilamòs, Canejan, Bausen, and Arres. According to the minister, this measure would allow the incorporation of specialized Justice administration personnel while maintaining current services and the figure of local peace judges in each municipality. The proposal was presented in a meeting with the first vice-consul of the Conselh Generau d’Aran, Francisco Bruna, who indicated it would be discussed at the next council of mayors.
This proposal is part of the implementation of the law on Efficiency of the Public Justice Service. This law will transform former peace courts into Municipal Justice Offices, which will act as the entry point for citizens to justice. Among the anticipated benefits are easier access to the Civil Registry, obtaining official certificates, connecting with courts via videoconference, and access to free legal aid, in addition to avoiding unnecessary travel within the Valley.
Furthermore, Espadaler acknowledged the challenges regarding the presence of the Aranese language in the judicial system. He recalled that the ministry offers a translation service between Catalan, Spanish, and Aranese for citizens and legal operators.
