The Prosecutor's Office is seeking 5 years in prison and fines exceeding 900,000 euros for three men accused of being part of a drug trafficking group in Val d'Aran.

The Prosecutor's Office is seeking a 5-year prison sentence and fines totaling over 900,000 euros for three men accused of being part of a criminal group involved in drug trafficking in Val d'Aran. According to the indictment, the defendants were jointly and coordinatedly engaged in the illicit sale of large quantities of MDMA, hashish, and cocaine in the region, operating at least since early 2024.
The police investigation began on March 6, 2024, when the Mossos d'Esquadra, during a routine check on the N-230 road, near the exit of the Vielha tunnel, stopped a van. With the support of the Canine Unit, officers detected signs of drugs under the passenger seat. That same night, two packages containing hashish (94 and 50.6 grams), 985.6 grams of MDMA, and 250.8 grams of a cutting agent were found, with an illicit market value of 48,921.41 euros.
The Prosecutor's Office asserts that the seized substances were intended for sale. The investigation linked the van driver to two men staying at a hotel in Vielha since late February. According to the Mossos d'Esquadra, all three came from the Tarragona region and had allegedly traveled to Val d'Aran to enter the local drug market. Police attributed the role of supplier to the driver, while the other two were allegedly responsible for distribution.
That same night, investigators arrested the other two suspects as they left the hostel. Subsequently, a judicial authorization led to a search of their room, where a bag containing 686.8 grams of MDMA, four hashish slabs (382.7 grams), one gram of cocaine, 301 ecstasy pills, and an additional 1,231.5 grams of hashish were found. Precision scales and material for preparing doses were also seized. The estimated value of the substances found at the hotel is 53,401.10 euros, bringing the total value of the seized drugs to over 102,000 euros.
The three defendants were remanded in custody on March 8, 2024. The Prosecutor's Office considers them co-perpetrators of crimes against public health for trafficking harmful substances, in conjunction with belonging to a criminal group. The trial is scheduled to take place on June 11 at the Audiencia de Lleida.
Separately, the Audiencia de Lleida will try two women on June 10 accused of violent robbery with intimidation in an inhabited dwelling and a crime against public health. The Prosecutor's Office seeks 8 years in prison for each (4 for each crime) and a fine of 798 euros. The case was investigated by the court of Tremp.
According to the indictment, the events occurred in the early hours of November 18, 2022, when the two defendants allegedly went to the home of an acquaintance and forced their way in through threats. Once inside, they allegedly took 1,300 euros in cash. During the arrest of one of the defendants, officers seized 1,900 euros and four small bags containing 6.65 grams of cocaine (valued at 798 euros), intended for sale. Analysis of their mobile phones suggests they were involved in supplying drugs.
