The Surveillance Reinforcement Plan deployed extra officers in key areas like Aigüestortes National Park. The region recorded 622 fines, the highest in Catalonia, mostly due to unauthorized motorized vehicles in forest tracks.
“"The goal is not just to sanction, but to make the enjoyment of nature compatible with its protection."
With 675 current officers and the use of surveillance drones, the Department of Interior aims to reach 1,300 agents by 2030 to protect the natural heritage.
