The event will take place at the Stadium Fernández Ochoa and is one of the most anticipated of the season, focusing on boosting women's sports. This initiative is supported by the Universo Mujer program of the High Council for Sports (CSD) and Iberdrola.
A novelty for the 2025/2026 season is the double Slalom (SL) format, the specialty in which Blanca Fernández Ochoa won bronze at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games, marking Spain's first individual female Olympic medal.
The main goal of the competition is to empower and promote women's sports through the Mujer y Nieve (Woman and Snow) project.
The competition will feature athletes from the Spanish National Team, national training centers, and international racers from France and Andorra. Many participants are seeking minimum points for qualification for the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.
Additionally, a round table on female leadership will be held on Saturday, December 20, at the Hotel Meliá in Vielha. It will feature Edurne Pasaban, the first woman to summit the 14 eight-thousanders, moderated by Paula Fernández-Ochoa of the RFEDI's Woman and Snow Area.
