Pyrenees Tourism: 1.7 MEUR to Boost Brand and Extend Seasonality

The Catalan Tourism Agency invests in promotion, events, and projects to consolidate the destination year-round.

The Catalan Tourism Agency (ACT) will allocate 1.7 million euros to reinforce the brand of the Catalan Pyrenees, aiming to extend the destination's seasonality and boost active and nature tourism.

The ACT's investment in the Pyrenees exceeds 1.7 million euros this year. Key initiatives include the Pirineus de Catalunya promotion program, the snow campaign, the organization of AdventureELEVATE Europe 2026 in the Val d'Aran, and funding for communication and promotion of the European project EnjoyPyr, a cross-border initiative promoting four major circular and transversal routes across the Pyrenees.
This commitment seeks to establish the Pyrenees as a year-round tourist destination, extending beyond the winter and summer seasons. The goal is to promote products linked to active and nature tourism, gastronomy, culture, wellness, and sustainable experiences, thereby contributing to the desestacionalization and decentralization of tourism activities.
Coinciding with the conclusion of AdventureELEVATE Europe 2026, the Val d'Aran hosted a new edition of the Jornada InterPirineus, the sector's annual meeting driven by the Pirineus de Catalunya brand. The event brought together over 100 companies, entities, and professionals for a working session to exchange data and trends, foster new collaboration opportunities, and enhance the competitiveness of the Pyrenees destination.
The staging of AdventureELEVATE Europe 2026 in Vielha was a strategic opportunity to position Catalunya internationally in the active and nature tourism segment, according to the ACT. Despite being an international event for this tourism specialty, its celebration in the Aran is expected to bolster the destination's international profile and generate new business and commercialization opportunities for Catalan companies.
