The Unió de Pagesos (UP) union has maintained its leadership in the agricultural sector across Val d'Aran and Catalonia following the elections held this February 28th.

According to provisional results, Unió de Pagesos secured 47% of the total vote in Catalonia. In the Val d'Aran region, the union achieved a dominant 50% of the ballots. JARC followed as the second most voted force in the Alt Pirineu i Aran area with 29.47%.
Voter turnout rose significantly to 54.78%, up from 35.82% in the 2021 elections. This represents the highest participation rate in the last ten years, with 11,709 professionals casting their votes out of a census of over 21,000.

"We are very satisfied because we are close to the 55% participation figure that we had set as a goal."

Cristina Massot · Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food
Only UP and JARC met the 15% threshold required for institutional representation. Consequently, the Agricultural Table for the next five years will consist of six members from Unió de Pagesos and four from JARC, excluding other organizations like ASAJA or UPA.
