The Conselh Generau d'Aran and SABS are joining the commemoration of World Physical Activity Day (DMAF) on April 6, 2026, aiming to promote exercise and healthy habits throughout the Val d'Aran.
This event, driven by the Department of Sports of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Public Health Agency (ASPCAT), seeks to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle and combating sedentary behavior, a significant health risk factor.
Under this year's motto, 'More movement, more life,' citizens are encouraged to integrate physical activity into their daily routines. The Val d'Aran, with its privileged natural environment and strong sports culture, is an ideal setting for promoting exercise year-round.
“
"World Physical Activity Day is an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the health and well-being of citizens. The Val d'Aran has all the elements to be a leading territory in active living, and this is everyone's responsibility."
The Conselh Generau d'Aran and SABS have issued an open call to citizens and the associative fabric to actively participate in DMAF, whether by incorporating physical activity into daily life, participating in organized activities, or launching new initiatives from sports, social, and educational entities. The goal is to generate a collective dynamic that fosters a more active, healthy, and cohesive society.

"The Aranese associative fabric is key. Without the involvement of clubs, associations, and collectives, it would not be possible to generate this culture of movement that we want for the present and future. We call on all entities to propose activities and help make this day a true collective movement throughout the Val d'Aran."
As part of the activities, SABS has organized a free and open yoga session, led by Eri Sakamoto, which will take place on April 9, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Espai d'Atenció Infantil, Juvenil i a les seves Famílies (Pomaròla Street, 12, Vielha). Registrations, with limited spots, can be made at esakamoto@aransalut.com. This initiative aims to promote physical and emotional well-being in connection with the environment.
The Conselh Generau d'Aran reaffirms its commitment to promoting public policies that encourage physical activity and health, working in coordination with local stakeholders. DMAF is presented as an opportunity to consolidate a shared vision of an active, healthy, and connected Val d'Aran.
