The Vielha e Mijaran City Council has announced that the Palai de Gèu ice rink will be closed from March 9th to 12th to conduct essential technical inspections and structural tests.

These works are part of a project to repair structural pathologies on the ground floor and improve the perimeter waterproofing of the ice track. The main goal is to eliminate water leaks and enhance the long-term durability of the facility, protecting the lower levels of the building.
During this period, all activities will be suspended, and municipal services located within the complex, including the public library, will remain closed. This measure ensures the safety of users and staff while allowing technical teams to access construction elements and gather precise data on the building's condition.
The contract for the project design and preliminary works is valued at 56,250.05 euros (excluding VAT). Local authorities have expressed gratitude for the public's understanding, emphasizing that this diagnostic phase is vital for a successful and lasting intervention.
