The Bages Grape Harvest Festival celebrates its 31st edition with notable new features that consolidate its wine fair format and expand its range of activities. The main innovation is the extension of the fair to the entire weekend at plaça Vella in Artés, with individual stands for each winery starting Saturday, replacing the single bar of previous editions.
On Saturday, hours are extended with a musical vermouth from 12 PM to 2 PM in the plaça Vella, hosted by Joan Colomo, where visitors can taste wines from the DO Pla de Bages, cava, and local products. This new format will allow for tasting more references starting Saturday, the day that will feature most of the wineries.
Sunday will maintain the traditional format with all producers, the wine exhibition, and the popular grape stomping. The main event will take place on the weekend of October 3rd and 4th in Artés.
The festival will kick off on Friday, October 2nd, at the Més que Paraules winery in Fonollosa with the inaugural event, including a visit, speeches, a guided tasting, dinner, and live music by Marc River and Rocío. Additionally, on Thursday, there will be a prelude event called Noctura Vinum at various establishments in the region, featuring tapas and music to accompany local wines.
Music will be a highlight on Saturday with performances by Jambolainers, La Big Bandida, and a DJ set. In the evening, there will also be Tastos amb Ritme (Tastings with Rhythm) and Mossecs de Verema (Grape Harvest Bites), featuring local gastronomic offerings. On Sunday afternoon, Músics del Parc will close the festival.
The program includes guided tastings led by sommeliers Irene Cozas, Anna Castillo, and Dúnia Vargas, demonstrations of popular culture, dry stone routes, and the traditional craft and trade fair through the streets of the old town.
