The magazine Descobrir, specializing in geography and travel, focuses its October edition on the spectacular autumn scenes in the Aran Valley. The issue includes a dossier of over sixty pages with four reports exploring the best forests to witness the explosion of colors, routes through the six historical terçons, the most beautiful villages, and emblematic restaurants of Aran cuisine.
The dossier's unpublished photographs are by photographer Òscar Rodbag. Journalist and musicologist Sofia Cabanes authors the first article, a journey through forests where autumn becomes an ephemeral chromatic spectacle, accompanied by a selection of viewpoints. Journalist Iñaki Delaurens details Aran's historical division into six terçons and proposes hiking routes for each.
Journalist Anna Geli focuses on architectural heritage, featuring Romanesque churches, medieval institutions, and villages with mills and castles, as well as museums exploring the territory's Occitan history and identity. Meanwhile, journalist and editor-in-chief of Cuina magazine, Ferran Caldés, dedicates a report to Aran gastronomy, characterized by mushrooms, game, and Occitan influences.
The report is completed by a text from Ares Riu, a journalist and presenter for 3CatInfo in Aranés, who reflects on the connection with roots and family through autumn in the Valley, illustrated by Xavier Mula. The issue includes practical information on accommodation, restaurants, activities, routes, and points of interest.
The issue will be presented on Tuesday, September 29th, at 6 PM, in the Assembly Hall of the Conselh Generau d’Aran, in Vielha. Participants will include the Minister of Tourism, Josep Canut, the editor of Descobrir, Joan Morales, and some of the report's collaborators.
