The Manresa City Council has announced that approximately 4,500 undocumented immigrants living in the city are eligible for the extraordinary regularization process approved by the Spanish Government in January 2026.

City Councilor Mariona Homs provided the estimate following inquiries regarding the local impact of the national policy. The measure is expected to affect half a million people across Spain, with Catalonia accounting for nearly 150,000 of the potential beneficiaries.

"These are people who already reside in the city, including children, and therefore already access municipal services."
