The team led by coach Diego Ocampo struggled to overcome a fighting MoraBanc Andorra, which is battling to escape the danger zone. This seventh victory of the season, achieved last Sunday, January 25, places Baxi Manresa five games clear of the relegation spot, currently held by Recoletas San Pablo Burgos.
The game started with high accuracy from the hosts, featuring three-pointers by Brooks, Reyes, and Obasohan, giving them an early lead (11-4). However, the team coached by Joan Plaza reacted thanks to the individual talent of Shanon Evans and the outside threat of Kyle Kuric, whose two three-pointers forced Ocampo to call a timeout (16-19).
Baxi heavily felt the impact of Obasohan on the court, acting as a beacon and a central element in all offensive actions.
The Manresa reaction came from long distance, with three almost consecutive three-pointers by Steinbergs and the frantic activity of Obasohan, who was decisive in transition and defense. The Belgian guard was crucial in reaching halftime with an 11-point lead (52-41), after stealing the ball from Evans and finishing with a dunk.
Although Andorra raised the physical intensity after the break, reducing the margin to 3 points (76-73) with the appearance of Artem Pustovyi in the paint, the character of Obasohan, assisted by the visitors' free-throw errors, ultimately sealed the victory for the Bages team (91-84).
