Fifteen fire units are working to control a possible chlorine leak at a company in the Bufalvent industrial park in Manresa, with the chemical emergency plan activated.

Emergency services have deployed fifteen fire units to address a potential chlorine leak at a company located in the Bufalvent industrial park in Manresa. As a precautionary measure, Civil Protection has activated the alert for the External Emergency Plan for the Chemical Sector (Plaseqcat).
The public is urged to avoid the area to facilitate the work of the intervention teams. Workers in nearby industrial units have already been instructed to shelter in place.
According to initial reports, the incident originated in an external container holding pool chemicals and chlorine, which may have undergone a chemical reaction. The firefighting response includes a unit specialized in Chemical Risk.
Additionally, neighboring municipalities of Castellgalí, Sant Vicenç de Castellet, and El Pont de Vilomara, located south of Manresa and in the wind's direction, have been informed to assess the situation and take necessary actions.
