Directed by Fernando Trullols, the production recreates the events of December 30, 2000, when a severe snowstorm trapped several hikers, resulting in seven fatalities. Carles Gilabert plays Santi, one of the volunteer firefighters from Camprodon involved in the rescue operations.
“"The movie is not just about a tragedy; despite everything, it is a song to life."
Filming for Balandrau, vent salvatge took place in real locations such as Vall de Boí, Vallter, and Camprodon. For Gilabert, this project held significant personal weight, helping him process the recent loss of two friends in a separate mountain accident.
